Pickup + Shipping
FFL Transfers
A Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer is required when purchasing a firearm from outside Illinois or from an FFL holder who is geographically inconvenient for the customer. Voodoo Firearms is happy to assist with FFL transfers from licensed dealers.
We will contact you once the firearm is received and ready to be processed. In accordance with ATF regulations, we cannot initiate the background check or complete ATF Form 4473 until the firearm is in our possession.
Pickup In-Store
Purchasing a firearm online and picking it up in person at Voodoo Firearms is easy. Once your order is processed, you’ll receive an email notifying you that your item(s) are ready for pickup. Visit our store, show the email confirmation to one of our associates, and complete the required paperwork at the time of pickup.
Please note that all applicable federal and Illinois state laws will apply, including FOID card verification, background checks, and any required waiting periods. Illinois law mandates that a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card must be verified, and all state and federal background checks will be conducted at the time of pickup. Ensure you bring your FOID card and any additional identification required by Illinois law, such as a valid Illinois driver’s license or other proof of residency.
Shipping + Handling
At Voodoo Firearms, we offer convenient home delivery for a variety of items, including accessories, optics, and gear. Choose your preferred shipping option at checkout, and expect delivery within 7-10 business days. Please note that firearms and serialized products (including lower receivers and frames) cannot be shipped directly to your home.
Ammunition Shipping to Illinois: Illinois law prohibits the shipment of ammunition to a private residence. We can ship ammunition to an FFL dealer or licensed firearm retailer near you. If you choose to have your ammunition shipped, you must select an appropriate FFL dealer or retailer at checkout.
For firearm purchases, you can select in-store pickup, or we can ship your firearm to a local FFL dealer near you. At checkout, simply select an FFL dealer from your area (you’ll need their name and contact info). After we verify their FFL status, we will ship your firearm directly to them. Please be aware that your local FFL may charge a transfer fee, which is set by the dealer and is not collected by Voodoo Firearms. Be sure to contact them directly to verify their fees.
Shipping to Illinois
We currently only offer shipping within the contiguous 48 states and do not ship to international locations or P.O. boxes. All firearm shipments to Illinois must comply with state laws, including the Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card requirement, and will be processed according to both state and federal regulations.
Shipping Firearms (ATF Requirements)
For items classified as firearms by the ATF, we will only ship via UPS 2-Day Air, as required by ATF regulations. For all other products, including accessories, optics, and ammunition, we will ship via UPS or USPS, whichever is more cost-effective and appropriate for the item.
States with Shipping Restrictions
Voodoo Firearms will not ship firearms, ammunition, or related items to states or jurisdictions that prohibit the shipment, possession, or transfer of such items. These states include (but may not be limited to):
- California
- New York
- New Jersey
- Massachusetts
- Hawaii
- Connecticut
- Maryland
- Illinois (ammunition cannot be shipped to private residences)
- Washington D.C.
Please verify local laws before ordering, as shipping laws can change frequently.
HAZMAT Items
Certain items, including ammunition, may require special handling due to safety regulations. All HAZMAT items incur a $35 shipping fee, regardless of the destination.
FFL Transfer Fees
When you select to have a firearm shipped to an FFL dealer, please be aware that the FFL dealer may charge a transfer fee for handling the firearm transfer. The fee is set by the individual FFL dealer and is not collected by Voodoo Firearms. Be sure to contact the FFL dealer directly to verify their fees and any additional requirements they may have.
Key Legal Considerations for Illinois Compliance:
- FOID Verification: In Illinois, all firearm transactions must verify that the buyer holds a valid FOID card. This applies to both in-store purchases and FFL transfers. The FOID card must be presented at the time of pickup or transfer.
- Background Check and Waiting Period: As per Illinois law, all firearm purchasers must undergo a background check and comply with any waiting period requirements. This applies whether purchasing in-store or via FFL transfer.
- PICA Compliance: The Private Firearm Transfer Records Act (PICA) requires a record of all private firearm transfers, including when the transfer is conducted through an FFL. All paperwork and background checks should be completed by a licensed FFL dealer in accordance with state law.
- ATF Form 4473: The ATF Form 4473 must be completed by the purchaser before receiving a firearm. This form verifies the purchaser’s eligibility to own a firearm under federal law, and the background check is a required part of that process.
